I chose Punjabi poetry and calligraphy as the foundation of the project, resulting in Asmaani Tarzan — translating to “Rhythms of the Sky.” The book brings together selected Punjabi poems within a contemporary editorial format.
Each poem was visually interpreted through expressive brush strokes and abstract illustrations inspired by its theme and emotion. The titles were individually hand-calligraphed, scanned and digitised, bringing a handcrafted quality to the otherwise minimal monochrome layouts.
The project became an exploration of Punjabi literature, calligraphy and contemporary editorial design, using typography and imagery to extend the emotion of the written word.
